Fascinating and informative about India. Definitely a book to read next.

Catching up with earlier stuff: thanks (kinda) for the mention of Kaputt by Curzio Malaparte. I say 'kinda' because the book is truly shocking and sometimes hard to read! While reading my breath gets tighter and eyes wider in disbelief at the terror and carnage and, most of all, at the matter-of-fact attitude of the Nazis that they are bringing glorious and superior German culture to a completely inferior world. Somehow Malaparte as observer remains twisted but weirdly charming.

- as a layman on most of the subjects touched here ( -and some 'repeatedly .. ) i cannot really assess the veracity and all the many details of the 'stories' - but i very much value - and i'm ever so grateful for the -Your- efforts to inform us/me about often overlooked or 'forgotten' or misunderstood and/or misrepresented socio-political and cultural processes in our un-deniably 'Shared' Global Family . Again Thank You Very Much !!!
